Job summary

The position is hourly, approximately 20–25 hours per week, with a flexible schedule between 3:30 pm and 10:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms: empty trash, sweep/vacuum/mop floors, wipe desks/tables/counters/high-touch surfaces, clean whiteboards/sinks/classroom fixtures.
• Clean and disinfect student and staff restrooms.
• Vacuum carpets and clean hard-surface floors throughout the building.
• Clean hallways, stairwells, entryways, offices, faculty lounges, and other common spaces.
• Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
• Lock windows, turn off lights, and help secure the building at shift end per procedures.
• Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or safety hazards to administration.
• Use cleaning products and equipment safely per manufacturer instructions.
• Assist with occasional special cleaning projects during breaks or before events.
• Maintain a professional, respectful attitude in the school community.

Northside Catholic Academy is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented professional to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for the daily cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas after the school day has ended.

Essential Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, including:
  • Empty trash and replace liners
  • Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors as needed
  • Wipe and disinfect desks, tables, counters, and high-touch surfaces
  • Clean whiteboards, sinks, and classroom fixtures
• Clean and disinfect student and staff restrooms.
• Vacuum carpets and clean hard‑surface floors throughout the building.
• Clean hallways, stairwells, entryways, offices, faculty lounges, and other common spaces.
• Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
• Lock windows, turn off lights, and help secure the building at the end of each shift, following school procedures.
• Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or safety hazards to the administration.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, reaching, standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must successfully complete a background check and comply with all school safe-environment requirements.

Compensation

• Hourly position
• Approximately 20-25 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

This position has an hourly range of $18.50 - $20.50. An employee's pay within the hourly range will be based on many factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
