Nash County Public Schools Red Oak Middle in Red Oak, North Carolina is seeking a Custodian I - Part-Time to perform routine cleaning and maintenance under direct supervision. Qualifications

• Some knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• Some skill in the use of small equipment used in routine cleaning.
• Ability to understand and follow simple oral or written directions.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs, dusts, sweeps, mops, vacuums, waxes and polishes floors in rooms, hallways and closets.
• Dusts and arranges furniture.
• Washes windows, woodwork, walls and other surfaces.
• Scrubs and cleans rest room fixtures.
• Replenishes tissue, towels, and soap in rest rooms, kitchens and classroom facilities.
• Empties wastebaskets and other trash receptacles.
• Locks and unlocks doors.
• Sorts and stores material for recycling program.
• Change light bulbs in classrooms and hallways
• Reports to supervisor any damages or needed repairs.
• Picks up paper and other trash in school building or on school grounds.
• Assists the Maintenance Department with filter changing in mechanical equipment.
• Trim hedges, pick up debris and any other grounds related duties assigned by the supervisor.
