Job summary

The City of La Verne is seeking Crossing Guards to assist Bonita Unified School District students at street crossings. You will direct children, control traffic, and ensure safe crossings under supervision of the La Verne Police Community Engagement Supervisor.

Your role requires attention to safety, clear communication, and reliable attendance during assigned hours, with emphasis on courteous public service in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Available Monday–Friday mornings and afternoons.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods in outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Direct schoolchildren crossing streets at assigned intersections.
• Maintain discipline among school children near crossings.
• Stop and start traffic to permit crossing.
• Report accidents or unusual traffic incidents.
• Communicate clearly with children and motorists.
