Alachua County Sheriff's Office is seeking School Crossing Guards to help children cross busy roadways during school hours. This part-time role requires reporting to the SCG & FST Supervisor and may involve summer duties if schools participate in summer programs.
Training is provided; candidates must have a Florida driver's license and be fluent in English. The position is not eligible for benefits and is paid hourly based on school schedules.
Specialized work involving the safety of school children in their endeavor to cross busy roadways during school hours at peak traffic times. School Crossing Guards (SCG) are part-time employees that only report to work on days in accordance with the School Board of Alachua County School Year Calendar. During the summer the SCG might be asked to work summer school if their assigned school participates in a summer school program. Employees assigned to this classification report to the SCG & FST Supervisor. Performance is evaluated through conferences, observation, and appropriate employee performance appraisals.
This position is not eligible for benefits.
