Job summary

Rochester Public School District is seeking a part-time School Counselor (0.5 FTE) to define, manage, deliver, and assess a culturally sustaining and comprehensive school counseling program to improve student outcomes and increase access to opportunities for all students.

The role emphasizes collaboration with students, families, and staff to support postsecondary readiness. A master’s in school counseling and MN PELSB licensure are preferred; experience applying ASCA standards is valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in school counseling.*
• PEL SB license to practice school counseling in MN.*
• Experience implementing a culturally sustaining and comprehensive school counseling program.*

Responsibilities

• Define, manage, deliver, and assess culturally sustaining and comprehensive school counseling programs to improve student outcomes.
• Collaborate with students, families, teachers, and school leaders to support academic, personal/social, and postsecondary success.
• Deliver the RPS Postsecondary Readiness Curriculum to students in groups or individually.
• Provide short-term counseling and refer to mental health services as needed.
• Analyze data to assess program effectiveness and ensure equitable access to opportunities.
