Job summary

Rochester Public School District is seeking a full-time School Counselor to join the Academic Supports team on a 1.0 LTS schedule from January 4, 2027 through May 11, 2027. The position supports culturally sustaining counseling services and postsecondary readiness for all students in Rochester, MN.

As a licensed MN school counselor, you will collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators to deliver comprehensive programs, monitor student progress, and advocate for equitable

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in school counseling is required.
• MA PELSB school counseling license preferred/required in MN.
• Experience developing culturally sustaining programs and improving equity.

Responsibilities

• Help students discover strengths and set goals.
• Collaborate with families, teachers, and leaders to improve outcomes.
• Prepare students for postsecondary pathways.
• Deliver the postsecondary readiness curriculum to groups and individuals.
• Consult with staff to support high-quality social-emotional learning.
• Provide short-term counseling and referrals as needed.
• Advocate for all students within MTSS and equitable access.
• Analyze data to improve counseling program effectiveness.
