Job summary

LEARN Academy is seeking a Part-Time School Counselor in Mesa, AZ to support students with special needs within a collaborative team.

You will conduct individual and group counseling, develop counseling programs aligned with school goals, and advocate for students during IEP meetings while coordinating with teachers, families, and service providers.

This role offers 1–2 days per week, competitive compensation, 401K, and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in school counseling from an accredited program.
• Maintain state license/certification.
• School experience preferred.
• Current AZ IVP Fingerprint card.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' academic, career, and personal/social development.
• Develop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs that align with students' needs and school goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success and well-being.
• Assist students in developing academic plans and setting realistic goals for their future education and careers.
• Provide crisis intervention and support for students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
• Facilitate workshops and classroom lessons on topics such as bullying prevention, conflict resolution, social emotional skills and college readiness.
• Advocate for students' needs at IEP meetings and other student-focused discussions.
• Refer families and students to external mental health resources when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and student progress.
