Job summary

Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking a Substitute Clinic Assistant to provide health care support in on-site school clinics. You will admit and discharge students, administer medications, and assist the school nurse with screenings and documentation.

Must have First Aid/CPR and maintain credentials within three months. You will work with students, families, and staff in a busy school setting, following safety and health procedures daily.

Qualifications

• Must be First Aid/CPR, AED certified and maintain current certifications within three months.
• Strong ability to communicate with students, parents and school staff.
• Ability to perform basic clerical tasks and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Admits and discharges sick students in the clinic.
• Administers medication as prescribed following proper procedures.
• Maintains appropriate medication documentation.
• Performs healthcare procedures as prescribed and treats minor injuries.
• Contacts emergency services and parents when necessary; performs first aid and CPR.
• Assists school nurse with health screenings and exams.
• Processes student attendance daily at principal’s discretion.
• Provides clerical support – typing, filing, records, and supplies ordering.
• Attends required trainings and meetings.
