Job summary

Northborough-Southborough Public Schools is seeking a part-time Food Services Team Member at Neary Elementary School in Southborough, MA. The role supports daily cafeteria operations, food service, and student assistance during the school day.

The position offers 2.5 to 5.5 hours per day with a focus on customer service, food preparation, and safe sanitation practices under the Food Services Manager. Prior kitchen experience is helpful; citizenship/residency or work visa required.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with students, staff and Administration.
• Has manual dexterity to handle knives and other kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, steamers, ovens and dishwashers.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Serve and present food in a visually appealing manner.
• Use Mosaic POS system to process transactions and reconcile cash.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, slicers, steamers, stove tops, warmers and dishwashers.
• Conform to all safe food handling, storage and sanitation methods.
• Prepare food according to recipes and directions provided by the Food Services Manager.
• Assist Cooks, Bakers and other team members with joint tasks when needed.
• Maintain regular and on-time attendance for student support.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Food Services Manager.
