Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker for the 2026-2027 school year, available throughout Chester County, starting late August to early June. Responsibilities include food preparation, serving, maintaining sanitary conditions, and operating systems per School Lunch Program guidelines. A high school diploma and clearances are required. The hourly rate is between $15.29 and $16.37, based on experience, for roles at various locations including TCHS Brandywine and TCHS Pickering.

Qualifications

• Current police, child abuse & FBI fingerprint clearances required prior to hire.
• PA school personnel health form required prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Participate in food preparation and serving, observing portion control.
• Assist in cooking and baking using kitchen equipment.
• Ensure sanitary conditions and follow food safety procedures.
• Operate computerized point-of-sale system and manage cash handling.
• Purchase and store food supplies following procedures.

Skills

Ability to lift between 20 to 35 lbs daily
