Somerton Elementary School District 11 is seeking a Food Service Worker Substitute to support the district's Food Service Department. This 9-month, part-time position starts immediately and pays $15.15 per hour.

Work calendar is 181 days with hours varying per day, and no benefits are included. The role involves assisting with meal preparation, serving, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting ordering and storage tasks under the supervision of the Food Service Manager or Director.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of proper safety techniques.
• Knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points.
• Knowledge of proper food handling techniques.
• Skill in following oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assists with preparing a variety of food to be served.
• Sets up serving line.
• Washes fruit and vegetables.
• Prepares food for cook.
• Prepares snack bars, salads and salad bar.
• Serves food.
• Prepares food for next meal or next day.
• Unloads and properly stores commodities.
• Assists with ordering of food and food supplies.
• Maintains cleanliness and order of storage areas.
• Assists with cleaning of food service areas.
• May take food service deposits to district office for processing.
• Other duties as assigned.
