Job summary

First Student in Pennsauken, NJ, is hiring a Part-Time School Bus Monitor/Aide to assist the driver and ensure safe student transport to and from school. No prior experience is required; training and safety programs are provided.

You will help students board and exit safely, maintain order on the bus, and support the driver during routes while following school policies and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Knows the route and remains alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while enroute.
• Keeps order on the bus.
• Communicates behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver.
• Assists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus utilizing Zonar technology, including child checks.
• Assists students in the loading and unloading process.
• Attends all safety and training meetings.
• Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including exiting from the emergency door.
• Cleans the insides of the bus including sweeping, dusting and cleaning windows.
• Assists the driver whenever necessary to safely direct the vehicle backwards.
