Job summary

Academy District 20 seeks a part-time school bus driver to provide safe, efficient transportation for students to and from school and related activities. The role includes a required CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, training as a temporary bus driver trainee, and eligibility for medical, vision, dental, and life insurance benefits after conversion to a regular position.

DOT testing is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to drive and operate a school bus safely.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions while driving.
• Ability to interact professionally with diverse people including students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Report for work as scheduled and maintain punctuality.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Transport students to and from school and activities safely and efficiently.
• Consult with supervisors on route modifications and safety issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderly appearance of district vehicles.
