Job summary

First Student, Inc. is hiring part-time School Bus Drivers for Glen Ellyn and Carol Stream, IL. You will transport students safely to and from school and events, with split AM/PM shifts and a guaranteed minimum of hours. Training and CDL/CLP support are provided, along with a sign-on bonus of $2,000 and competitive hourly pay.

No experience is required, and opportunities for advancement exist across 540+ locations. A strong safety focus and DOT compliance are emphasized in the program.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license for at least 3 years.
• Part-time schedule with split AM/PM routes.
• DOT drug testing compliance for safety-sensitive role.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading; assist with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards; communicate delays.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
