Qualifications

• Possession of a valid appropriate level Driver License or Commercial Driver License at the time of appointment.
• In School Districts, drivers must be at least 21 years of age.
• Where applicable, meet requirements for Bus Drivers under NYS rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operates a school bus on regular schedule and/or special occasions.
• Checks bus operating condition before trips and reports defects.
• Instructs students or passengers about safety practices when entering and leaving the bus.
• Maintains orderly conduct of students or passengers on the bus.
• Completes accident and vehicle maintenance reports.
• May perform minor maintenance tasks on the vehicle or related duties.
