Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid CDL with P and S endorsements required.
• Medical Examiner's Certificate must be current.
• Safe driving history with no major violations.
• Ability to read and interpret maps and routes.
• Experience operating wheelchair and ambulatory buses is preferred.
• Demonstrated calmness during emergencies and incidents.
• Ability to complete trip and incident reports clearly.
• Physical stamina to perform duties and assist students.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus safely according to schedules and routes.
• Assist with boarding/alighting and ensure seat belts are used.
• Maintain order and discipline; document and report incidents as needed.
• Conduct daily safety and vehicle inspections; report repairs and clean bus.
• Transport medications and belongings as directed; communicate with parents and staff.
• Maintain mileage, routing, maintenance, and time-schedule records.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required; keep licenses/certifications current.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
