The role emphasizes safe transport, strong communication with students and families, and professionalism in appearance and conduct. The successful candidate will possess a valid Class B CDL with P & S endorsements, a clean driving record, and completion of required safety training.

Qualifications

• Commitment to Catholic Mission and Dominican Charism.
• Completion of Safe Haven environment training and Virtus program.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Class B CDL with P&S endorsements and school bus safety course.
• Excellent driving record.
• Criminal history check, DOT physical and drug screen.
• Experience in driving a school bus.
• Ability to write clear reports and communicate in English.
• Physically able to perform evacuation procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills with children and adults.
• CPR/First aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Transport students to and from school on established routes.
• Prioritize student safety on routes and drop-offs.
• Drive extracurricular routes including sports and field trips.
• Keep bus clean and sanitary.
• Perform additional charter work as needed.
• Report accidents, damage, injuries and mechanical issues promptly.
• Exert a positive influence and collaborate with staff.
• Respond to improvement suggestions positively.
• Maintain professionalism with students, parents, staff and community.
• Maintain professional appearance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
