Job summary

Cottonwood-Oak Creek Elementary School District Bus Barn in Cottonwood, Arizona seeks a Substitute Bus Driver to transport students on a daily route, maintain safety, and perform routine bus inspections.

Requires a CDL with passenger endorsement or willingness to obtain one, plus background check, drug testing, and related certifications. Starting wage is $16.40/hour after CDL; schedule is approximately 4.5 hours per day (roughly 6:30–8:30am and 2–4:30pm).

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass background check, drug/alcohol testing, and DOT physical.
• Possession of Class B or better CDL with air brakes and passenger endorsement, or willingness to obtain.
• School bus driver certification required or willingness to be trained.
• Ability to pass physical and drug screening tests.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school bus along a designated route; pick up and discharge students on time.
• Perform regular safety inspections of buses and report issues.
• Maintain order and discipline on bus and at bus stops as per district policies.
• Meet schedules; operate a two-way radio for communications.
• Attend safety meetings and trainings as assigned.
