First Student Management LLC in Chicago, IL is hiring a Part-Time School Bus Driver to start students’ days with morning pickup and transport them safely home after school. Training is provided and no prior experience is required.

This role offers an hourly pay around $24, with a $2,000 sign-on bonus, split AM/PM routes, and weekdays only. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan with company match.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Willing to work part-time, with split AM/PM routes.
• Enjoy working with students.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about student behavior or delays.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
