First Student, Inc. is seeking a Part Time School Bus Driver in Hermiston, OR to start mornings with student pickups and afternoon returns. You may take on additional field trips and special events, with training provided to ensure safe, professional operation.

This role prioritizes student safety, punctuality, and clear communication with families and school staff. Qualified candidates are 21+ with a valid license for at least 3 years and a willingness to work a flexible, part-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Have a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
• Part-time schedule with summers off; no nights or holidays.
• Enjoy working with students and families.
• No experience required; training provided by First Student.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading; assist with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about delays or behavior.
