Job summary

Wichita Collegiate School seeks a part-time School Bus Driver to provide safe transportation for students, coaches, and staff to athletic events and school-sponsored trips. You operate a school bus, perform inspections, and coordinate with the Transportation department to ensure timely coverage.

Candidates must hold a Kansas CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, be 21 or older, pass drug and background checks, and have a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Kansas CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Must be 21 years of age or older and pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Must have a valid Kansas driver’s license and demonstrate a safe driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus to transport students, coaches, and staff to events.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues promptly.
• Maintain student safety and supervise behavior during loading, transit, and unloading.
• Follow itineraries and communicate delays or route changes to Transportation.
• Comply with Federal and Kansas CDL rules for passenger and school-bus operations.
• Fuel, clean, and secure the bus after each trip as directed.
• Attend safety meetings and participate in drug and background checks.
• Coordinate with Facilities and Athletics for trip timing and vehicle assignment.
• Remain with the trip, including wait time at venues when return transport is part of the duty.
