Job summary

TheraPeds Partners in Mason, Ohio is seeking a part-time Orientation & Mobility Specialist (O&M) for the 2026-2027 school year. This on-site role serves students who are blind or visually impaired with direct instruction, assessments, IEP development, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

The position offers guaranteed hours, 20 hours per week with $55-$75/hour, and a supportive environment from both the school district and TheraPeds Partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• COMS certification via ACVREP or eligibility to obtain certification.
• Ohio licensure, certification, or authorization as required.
• Experience with children or school-aged students who are blind or visually impaired.
• 1+ years of school-based experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized orientation and mobility instruction to students.
• Conduct O&M assessments and evaluations.
• Develop measurable IEP goals and objectives.
• Deliver O&M services per students' IEPs and plan.
• Teach orientation, spatial awareness, and independent travel skills.
• Assist with campus and environmental accessibility assessments.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Collaborate with Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments and school staff.
