Job summary

Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD is seeking a part-time Art Therapist to provide mental health services to students and families, using art as a medium for expression and to develop treatment goals as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include developing individualized goals from assessments and case history, maintaining documentation, incorporating art therapy goals into IEPs, and participating in team meetings.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Art Therapy is required.
• Experience with students with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must hold licensure at the LGPAT level with the MD Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
• Professional Crisis Management (PCM) training will be provided and certification achieved per policy timeline.

Responsibilities

• Develops individualized goals for each student using information from art therapy assessments and case history.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation and prepares quarterly and yearly reports for IEPs.
• Incorporates art therapy goals into the IEP and provides individual and/or group services.
• Participates in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and collaborates with involved staff.
• Performs administrative tasks and maintains art therapy materials and room.
• Participates in department meetings and maintains professional demeanor.
• Achieves PCM Practitioner certification according to departmental policy timeline.
