Job summary

Taft Elementary is seeking a Non-Instructional Aide to support the Plain Local School District in Canton, Ohio. The role reports to the Principal and involves supervising students, assisting with daily activities, and maintaining a friendly, safe learning environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred experience working with students in a school setting. This is a part-time 2-hour position with a hourly pay of $13.99.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Help students develop and observe proper rules and procedures
• Monitor and maintain behavior and reinforce acceptable behavior
• Organize students into orderly groups to assist them in their assigned areas
• Inform the teacher or Principal of any serious infraction of disciplinary rules by students
• Assist with setting up and using instructional equipment such as computers, audiovisual equipment, and related technology
• Maintain the confidentiality of student/staff information and records, and student behavior
• Monitor activities in the hall, lavatory, recess, lunch, playground, classroom, or wherever assigned
• Deal with occasional exposure to blood and bodily fluids, and students with various illnesses
• Interact with a diverse student population
• Handle interactions among unruly children
• Comply with all Plain Local Board of Education policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as directed
