Summary

The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by Store Management, such as cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities.

Sales Generation and Guest Service
  • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and provide legendary service.
  • Answer questions regarding the store and merchandise.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate merchandise based on Guest needs.
  • Anticipate and fulfill Guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and share sales education with Team.
  • Stay informed about current sales, promotions, policies, and security practices.
  • Consistently perform personal sales and look for presentation opportunities using the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
  • Achieve personal sales goals and contribute to store sales targets.
  • Provide excellent service throughout the store, including fitting rooms and checkout areas.
  • Assist Guests with fitting merchandise and processing purchases.
  • Handle exchanges and returns professionally, turning them into sales opportunities.
  • Use the SPG daily to meet or exceed goals.
  • Maintain Guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
  • Perform leadership actions and uphold high standards, regardless of management presence.
Teammate Recruiting, Training, and Development
  • Recognize recruiting opportunities through various channels.
  • Create relationships via Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude to foster a positive floor culture.
Visual Merchandise Management
  • Present merchandise to maximize sales and merchandise turnover.
  • Stay current on product range and provide feedback for improvements.
  • Ensure the sales floor is well-sized and displays are updated.
Operations
  • Work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts.
  • Operate cash registers, handle money, and perform balancing and deposits.
  • Recognize and prevent security risks and thefts.
  • Follow Loss Prevention guidelines and POS procedures.
  • Perform merchandising tasks and maintain a clean, organized store environment.
  • Report concerns and violations promptly.
  • Adhere to the Buckle’s Code of Ethics and policies.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment and perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

No prior experience or training required.

Physical Demands

Regularly stand, walk, handle objects, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and communicate. Occasionally sit. Must be able to lift/maneuver 30 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Work Environment

Work primarily in a retail store with moderate noise levels.
