Summary
The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Additionally, Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by Store Management, such as cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities.

Sales Generation and Guest Service
- Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service.
- Answer questions regarding the store and merchandise.
- Recommend, select, and help locate merchandise based on Guest needs.
- Anticipate and fulfill Guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and share sales education with the team.
- Stay informed about current sales, promotions, policies, and security practices.
- Achieve personal sales goals and contribute to store sales targets.
- Provide excellent service across all store areas including the front, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register.
- Assist Guests with fitting merchandise, checkout, and bagging.
- Handle merchandise alterations and process exchanges and returns effectively.
- Use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to meet goals.
- Engage in Buckle’s business builders and guest loyalty programs.
- Place special orders and contact other stores as needed.
- Build and maintain strong Guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
- Maintain knowledge of Buckle’s customer service standards.
- Perform leadership actions and uphold high standards, regardless of manager presence.
Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development
- Recognize recruiting opportunities via various channels.
- Create relationships through Guest Loyalty programs.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude to foster a positive store culture.
Visual Merchandise Management
- Present merchandise to maximize sales and merchandise turn.
- Stay current on product offerings.
- Collaborate with team and Guests for product feedback and improvements.
- Ensure the sales floor is well-sized and displays are updated.
Operations
- Work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Operate cash registers, handle cash, and perform balancing tasks.
- Recognize and prevent security risks and thefts.
- Follow all Loss Prevention guidelines.
- Understand POS procedures and policies on payments and exchanges.
- Handle freight, re-merchandising, displays, markdowns, and transfers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store environment.
- Report concerns and violations to management confidentially and promptly.
- Adhere to Buckle’s Code of Ethics and policies.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and perform other duties as assigned.
Other Details
This is a part-time position with no supervisory responsibilities. Benefits after waiting period include employee discount, performance bonuses, Employee Assistance Program, 401(k), and paid sick time where applicable.
No prior experience required. The physical demands include standing, walking, handling merchandise, and lifting up to 30 lbs. The work environment is a retail store with moderate noise levels.
