Job summary

HHM Talent is assisting a client in Chattanooga, TN, seeking a Part-Time Bookkeeper for 20–25 hours per week to manage day-to-day financial operations using Sage 50. The role focuses on reconciling online store transactions, inventory management, sales tax filings, and asset tracking.

The ideal candidate works independently with strong analytical skills and can monitor cash flow needs for budgeting and forecasting. Experience in e-commerce bookkeeping is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience using Sage 50 (formerly Peachtree) in a business setting is strictly required.
• 3-5 years of proven bookkeeping experience, with exposure to e-commerce retail and digital transaction flows.
• Strong capability in building cash flow statements and reports to track historical trends and near-term projections.
• Familiarity with monthly state and local sales tax filings for retail or online businesses.

Responsibilities

• Record all daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, into Sage 50.
• Journal entries, account coding, Month-end close, maintain clean records.
• Reconcile digital sales, transaction fees, and payouts with monthly bank statements.
• Prepare monthly cash flow reports and statements for customers and budgeting.
• Compile sales reports and calculate tax liabilities across jurisdictions.
