Job summary

Jericho Road Community Health Center in Buffalo seeks a part-time Safety Team Officer to patrol premises, monitor entrances, and respond to incidents across all Buffalo locations.

The role supports a mission-driven health center culture with opportunities for growth, a flexible workweek, and competitive pay. A NYS Security Guard License is required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment, with travel between sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associates or bachelor’s in Criminal Justice preferred.
• Minimum one year of safety team or risk management experience.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with supervision when needed.
• NYS Security Guard License required or obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Patrol premises regularly to detect intrusion and secure doors and windows.
• Ensure opening and closing of JRCHC facilities.
• Monitor and control entry of employees, visitors, residents and patients.
• Deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas and manage flow during incidents.
• Lead staff in securing areas during emergencies and drills.
• Fill out incident reports as needed.
• Call 911 when required and place the emergency call.
• Attend Crisis Prevention Intervention and mandatory training.
• Identify risk areas and respond swiftly and appropriately.
• Assist individuals with questions and direct to the appropriate team member.
