The Teen Academy program is a summer work + internship program which began in 2016 at the IHG Army Hotel in Joint Force Base San Antonio. In 2017, other IHG Army Hotels took notice, and a portfolio-wide program was launched.

At Intercontinental Hotels Group, we own, operate, and franchise more than 3,500 hotels, offering nearly half a million guest rooms in nearly 100 countries. By bringing your expertise and passion to any of our brands, you will help us achieve our vision: to be the preferred, admired, and successful hotel company worldwide.

  2. Helping develop a strong work ethic while offering a rewarding summer experience.
  3. Promoting strong family values by demonstrating IHG’s Winning Ways and a commitment to true hospitality, emphasizing a healthy lifestyle.
  4. Building appreciation for hardworking parents and relatives who support their families.

The Teen Academy is designed as a 10-week program, though duration may vary depending on local school schedules. The program runs during summer months only when school is out. Participating teens may not work more than 40 hours per week, with core hours from 0800 to 1600.

*Subject to state occupational restrictions.
