Job summary

Bach To Rock is seeking a Rock Band Coach in Fairfax, VA, to join as a part-time employee delivering music and performance lessons to students. You will use the B2R curriculum to help learners grow, perform, record in our studio, and even compose original music.

Responsibilities include teaching a mix of private, semi-private, and group lessons, creating a positive learning atmosphere, assessing readiness for bands, and supporting school events. Background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Must understand music concepts and communicate them effectively to students.
• Advanced understanding of music theory and technique relevant to the primary instrument.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to keep students on task.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with diverse personalities.
• Experienced performer, solo or group, with youth exposure.
• Experience working with youth and/or beginner musicians.
• Ability to interact effectively with children (ages 3-17) and adults.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Teach private, semi-private, and group lessons using Bach to Rock curriculum.
• Create an encouraging, fun, focused lesson atmosphere.
• Assess a student’s readiness to join a band or ensemble.
• Assist at school events.
• May repair equipment as needed and able.
