Job summary

Bitterroot Health in Hamilton, Montana, is seeking a Utilization Review Coordinator RN to ensure appropriate patient care using hospital resources. The UR Coordinator coordinates UR activities for inpatients and observation patients, initiates payer contact, and supports discharge planning with case managers and social workers.

The UR Coordinator will issue ABN and code 44 forms when needed, attend MR/UR committee meetings, and provide ongoing education to clinical staff to improve patient

Qualifications

• UR experience preferred.
• RN Case Management or Coding experience preferred.
• RN Licensure MT or CCS/CPC/RHIT/RHIA required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initial contact with payers and ongoing coordination of patient clinical status.
• Organize and facilitate day-to-day UR activities for inpatients and observation patients.
• Serve as a resource to clinicians on patient placement and to Case Managers and Social Workers for discharge planning.
• Issue ABN and code 44 forms when necessary.
• Attend quarterly MR/UR Committee meetings and provide recommendations to educate staff.
