Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse - OR Registry Abstractor in Edison, NJ to perform detailed medical record review and abstraction of clinical data for quality measures reporting.

You will manage record retrieval, input data, analyze error reports, ensure data integrity, and report findings at monthly meetings. A Bachelor's degree and NJ RN license are required, with at least 6 months of data abstraction experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 6 months of data abstraction experience preferred.
• Current NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License required.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical record review and abstract clinical case records to support quality improvement.
• Manage the overall record retrieval process for collecting complex data elements from patient records.
• Complete all data input, error report analysis and correction, and submission of data.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of information collected and entered into the data collection system.
• Report data and variances to departments and/or committees during monthly meetings.
• Identify opportunities for performance improvement based on reliable data trending.
• Assess potential problems affecting the data collection process and coordinate follow-up for resolution.
• Learn and understand varied databases and project-related terminology.
• Participate in educational sessions and/or webinars.
