Job summary

Adventist HealthCare seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Med Surg Oncology Department in Maryland. The RN will educate patients and families, model professional nursing standards, and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.

The role includes care planning, monitoring patient conditions, mentoring colleagues, and conducting focused rounds. The position is part-time, 24 hours weekly, with two 12-hour day shifts (7am-7pm) and every-other weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX is required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role model to Level I nurses and use electronic resources.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounds from patient and family perspective.
