Job summary

Cherry Health in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to participate in patient assessments, education, and triage both telephonically and in person. The role supports scheduling and care coordination within an interdisciplinary team, following organizational policies and standards.

The RN will educate patients, follow approved care protocols, and contribute to quality assurance while maintaining compliance with licensing and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and an active RN license in Michigan.
• One year of professional clinical nursing experience required; family practice experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support/CPR certification as required by license and certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient assessments, provide education, and schedule appointments both telephonically and in person.
• Advise patients and parents on care plans using approved protocols.
• Conduct one-on-one or family patient education sessions.
• Ensure follow-up calls are made and coordinate services with other health-related agencies.
• Participate in interdisciplinary planning to meet patient needs and health service objectives.
• Document nursing actions in medical records using defined standards.
• Contribute to policies, procedures, and guidelines; participate in quality assurance.
• Provide translation services when needed and ensure staff compliance with policies.
