Job summary

Blick Art Materials is hiring a part-time Retail Store Receiver in San Jose, CA. The role supports the store team by verifying shipments, stocking products, and maintaining an organized receiving area.

You will deliver excellent customer service, follow loss prevention procedures, and participate in training programs to enhance sales knowledge. The position involves flexible scheduling, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with typical hours averaging 15–25 per week.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Availability to work flexible schedules including day/evening shifts, weekends and holidays as required by the needs of the business.
• Regular attendance in accordance with the retail attendance policy.
• Associates in this role are scheduled an average of 15-25 hours per week based on availability and the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

• Consistently deliver superior customer service by combining sales, product knowledge, and other skills training to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Complete and utilize Blick onboarding and sales training, Preferred Customer Program, and Special Orders.
• Display an energetic and positive attitude with all customer interactions.
• Ensure compliance with Loss Prevention measures and Policies and Procedures.
• Process shipments, RTVs, and discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.
• Process receiving paperwork in an organized and timely manner.
• Supervise movement of product from receiving area to stockroom.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free stockroom and/or receiving area.
• Follow directions, prioritize, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Report low stock levels, inventory discrepancies, and customer product requests to management as needed.
• Provide customer service to all areas of the sales floor including the Custom Services Desk when required.

Your Role...

By exhibiting exceptional teamwork, boundless curiosity, and the utmost care, the Retail Store Receiver will assist their team to fulfil Blick's commitment to our customers, the Arts, and our local communities. The Retail Store Receiver will do this by verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for stocking and/or shipment while meeting quality and productivity standards. Responsibilities include,

Supervisory Responsibility:

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds while using the appropriate lifting techniques and following all safety rules.

Travel:

• Minimal travel in the local area may be required.
