Job summary

Blick Art Materials in San Jose, CA is seeking a part-time Retail Store Receiver to support our team with receiving operations and customer service. The role focuses on verifying shipments, processing paperwork, stocking merchandise, and serving customers on the sales floor.

Applicants should be able to work independently or with a team, have strong communication skills, and hold a high school diploma. Flexible scheduling, 15–25 hours per week, and a supportive work environment are offered.

Responsibilities

• Consistently deliver superior customer service by combining sales, product knowledge, and other skills training to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Process shipments, RTVs, and discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner.
• Process receiving paperwork in an accurate, organized, and timely manner.
• Supervise movement of product from receiving area to stockroom.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free stockroom and receiving area.
• Follows directions, showing an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines as assigned with minimal supervision.
• Understand and act on the procedures required for reporting low stock levels, inventory discrepancies, and customer product requests to management as needed.
• As the demands of the business require, provide customer service to all areas of the sales floor including the Custom Services Desk.

Retail Store Receiver

The Retail Store Receiver will assist their team to fulfil Blick’s commitment to our customers, the Arts, and our local communities. The Retail Store Receiver will do this by verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing items for stocking and/or shipment while meeting quality and productivity standards. Responsibilities include,

Scheduling Requirements

• Availability to work flexible schedules including day/evening shifts, weekends and holidays as required by the needs of the business.
• Regular attendance in accordance with the retail attendance policy.
• Associates in this role are scheduled an average of 15 – 25 hours per week based on availability and the needs of the business

Supervisory Responsibility

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds while using the appropriate lifting techniques and following all safety rules.

• Minimal travel in the local area may be required.

Pay Rate

The pay range below is provided in compliance with state/city specific laws. This pay range applies to this location. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
