Note: Excellent customer service skills are essential! Part-time positions are available. Please inform us about your availability, especially for evenings and weekends.

Our Retail Centers are open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Pay: $16.57 per hour. This position is eligible for Daily Pay, allowing you to work today and get paid today. We have partnered with DailyPay, a voluntary benefit. Part-time employees in our Retail and Sales/Operations Division are eligible for paid holidays, sick leave, jury duty, and bereavement leave. All employees can contribute pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) to our retirement plan, which is open to those 18 and older. Goodwill of Colorado is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) eligible employer.

Job Summary:

The Associate I, Retail Sales Cashier, provides exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and responding promptly to inquiries. They help maintain a well-stocked, organized sales floor and operate a point-of-sale system to ensure accurate transactions.

Essential Functions:

  • Verify till counts, process accurate cashier transactions, and maintain a balanced cash drawer using a computer-based POS system.
  • Engage customers in the Roundup initiative and share information about the mission it supports.
  • Deliver excellent customer service consistent with company values.
  • Assist customers with questions, concerns, and purchases.
  • Complete opening and closing procedures.
  • Keep the sales floor clean and organized, including shelves, racks, and returned items.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked point of sale, sales floor, and restrooms.
  • Initiate Customer Delight/Power Hour calls over intercom for organizing and cleaning the sales floor.
  • Follow all retail policies and safety procedures.
  • Cross-train in other departments and act as a backup as needed.
  • Perform additional duties beyond listed tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: One year of retail sales or cash handling experience preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Accuracy with numbers and understanding of US currency.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Effective communication with customers and staff.
  • Ability to operate cash register and credit card machines.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 8 hours daily.
  • Color vision for accurate transactions.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
