Job summary

OU Health is seeking a part-time Outpatient Retail Pharmacist for the Family Medicine Center. This role supports safe dispensing, patient counseling, and clinical collaboration in an outpatient/retail setting.

The position requires a PharmD or B.Pharm, Oklahoma pharmacist licensure within 90 days, and 1+ year of experience. You’ll lead clinical support, mentor staff, and help ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (D.Ph.) degree.
• At least one year of experience as a pharmacist.
• Licensure as a Pharmacist by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy required. Applicants must obtain licensure within 90 days of hire. BLS cert and Immunization Admin Certificate required within 90 days. Preceptor cert required within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medications safely and accurately in outpatient/retail settings.
• Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and adherence strategies.
• Collaborate with providers, technicians, payors, and care teams to optimize therapy.
• Mentor pharmacy staff and ensure regulatory compliance and safety.
• Support medication safety initiatives and quality-improvement activities.
• Promote efficient, patient-centered workflow and address patient concerns.
• Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) when assigned.
• Manage day-to-day prescription processing, insurance issues, and POS processes.
• Oversee retail inventory management and OTC guidance.
• Support immunization workflows and vaccination documentation.
