Job summary

Dollar Tree in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to deliver a friendly shopping experience for every customer. You will assist customers, process transactions, stock shelves, and keep the store clean and orderly.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, retail or service experience, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. You must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and work well with teammates in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable
