Job summary

Family Dollar in Topeka, KS is seeking a Customer Service Associate to deliver a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, manage transactions at the cash register, stock and maintain store appearance, unload trucks, and support safety and cleanliness across the store.

The role requires good communication, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions. Prior retail or customer service experience is preferred; physical stamina to lift 30–50 lbs is needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery or drug store is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks; stock replenishment.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and associates.
• Keep areas neat and presentable; clean bathrooms and sweep/mop floors.
