Coast Guard Exchange in Charleston, SC is hiring a Part-Time Sales Clerk to join a mission-driven retail team. The role involves welcoming customers, assisting with merchandise selection, and delivering outstanding service during weekday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Occasional Saturday shifts may be required. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds; prior cash register or retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Stock merchandise, assist patrons and operate a cash register as shown by the ability to read, comprehend and explain product literature; as well as count, subtract, multiply, and divide for stocking and inventory purposes as evidenced by high school coursework.
• Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
• Preferred: retail merchandising or cashier experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and help with the selection of merchandise.
• Operate cash register and process payments accurately.
• Take periodic stock counts and assist inventories.
• Replenish stock and maintain neat, presentable displays.
• Follow loss prevention and safety procedures.
