Job summary

Smart & Final is seeking a Part-time Retail Associate in Los Angeles, offering an $18.50 hourly starting rate. The role involves stocking, customer service and store upkeep at our Los Angeles location.

Qualifications

• Write simple correspondence.
• Regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs, frequently up to 45 lbs, and occasionally up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a store section as assigned and stock merchandise.
• Assure proper pricing, rotate products by date codes, stock displays and cases.
• Prepare perishable products for sale as needed.
• Set up advertising/promotional displays.
• Clean and maintain sanitation standards in store and parking areas.
• Offer friendly, knowledgeable, efficient service to customers.
• Load customer purchases to vehicles when requested.
• Perform basic bookkeeping duties (loss/damaged goods, store supplies).

The Opportunity

The Part‑time Retail Associate performs management‑assigned duties, which may include but may not be limited to stocking and maintaining a store section, carry‑out services and store cleaning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain a store section as assigned and stock merchandise using proper equipment (excluding power/heavy equipment)
• Assures proper pricing on merchandise, checks product date codes to validate proper rotation, stocks shelves, end displays, floor stacks, displays and refrigerated/frozen cases.
• Prepares perishable products for sale as needed.
• Sets up advertising/promotional displays.
• Cleans and maintains sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of store and parking lot as directed by store management.
• Offers friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and courteous assistance to customers by providing them with current store and product information.
• When requested, loads customer purchases by assisting customers to their vehicles.
• Performs basic bookkeeping duties, including recording lost/damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate tools.
