Job summary

Family Dollar in Waco, TX is seeking a part-time associate to support daily store operations and customer service. You will help organize merchandise from delivery through the sales floor, assist customers with inquiries, and perform opening/closing duties as needed.

Responsibilities include handling inventory, processing directives, maintaining displays, and helping train store associates. A high school diploma is preferred, with strong communication and teamwork skills essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties (standing, walking, lifting).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment; strong problem solving and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and ensure adherence to policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain store fixtures, displays, and overall promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Support store manager in training and developing store associates.
