Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Saint Paul, MN to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, train associates, and uphold company standards in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have some store-management experience, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. This part-time role offers varied shifts and opportunities to grow within the organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store is preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform related physical tasks
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays to ensure effectiveness
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash handling) and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness
• Other duties as assigned
