Job summary

University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (COM) seeks a part-time Research Assistant in the Division of Hematology & Oncology, onsite in Cincinnati. The position supports Dr.

Sarah Skuli’s Lab focusing on TP53-mutant MDS/AML biology, metabolism, and tumor microenvironment interactions. The role requires at least a Bachelor's degree with 1+ years lab experience, mammalian cell culture, molecular assays, flow cytometry, and data analysis.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of direct basic laboratory experience.
  • Wet-lab techniques including mammalian cell culture, molecular biology assays (DNA/RNA/protein extraction/quantification, PCR, qPCR, western blotting, cloning/bacterial transformation).
  • Flow cytometry, colorimetric/fluorometric assays, and basic data analysis (Excel/GraphPad).

Responsibilities

  • Follow established research protocols to perform experiments in the lab.
  • Design laboratory experiments in coordination with senior personnel and troubleshoot protocols as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all laboratory work and experiments.
  • Interpret data and assist in judging validity; may perform statistical/graphical analysis.
  • Operate and troubleshoot standard laboratory equipment and ensure quality checks.
  • Assist in training staff and maintaining lab inventory and organization.
  • Contribute to meetings, publications, and presentations.
  • Support mouse-based in vivo experiments and animal husbandry as needed.
