Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh is seeking a part-time Research Assistant in computer vision and machine learning to analyze and model human behavior from video, develop perceptual algorithms, and explore multimodal interaction for medical research and affective computing.

You will write code, build and test AI/ML models, maintain research records, and report progress to the research director while collaborating with interdisciplinary partners.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in computer vision, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a closely related field.
• Strong programming skills required.
• Background in ML / CV / human behavior modeling with specialization in one or more areas such as supervised/unsupervised/self-supervised learning, large vision models, transfer learning.

Responsibilities

• Write and develop AI/ML algorithms focused on human behavior modeling from video.
• Develop and maintain software for maximum efficiency and usability.
• Collect, record, store, analyze data and report results according to protocols.
• Communicate progress to the research director and maintain accurate records.
