Job summary

Connections Academy is seeking certified Substitute Teachers to support learning remotely for students nationwide. This part-time role uses a home office with LiveLessons, email, and various curriculum tools to stay connected with students, Learning Coaches and school staff.

The Washington Secondary Math Substitute Teacher will act as teacher of record during absences or vacancies, typically 2–20 weeks with average 8–12 weeks.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be certified to teach Math in Washington.
• Multiple state certifications are a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• Must maintain a distraction-free home office.
• Availability Monday–Friday during assigned hours (typically 8:00 am–4:00 pm in school time zone).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Be online and available Mon–Fri 8:00 am–4:00 pm in school time zone.
• Communicate with parents, students, and teachers regularly to develop and update learning plans.
• Complete grading, generate progress reports, and conduct parent conferences as instructed.
• Support instructional program via LiveLessons (synchronous and asynchronous sessions).
• Maintain up-to-date student records and data; coordinate with counselors and staff.
