Job summary

Stairways Behavioral Health in Erie, PA is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to coordinate and provide nursing services for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for individuals with substance use disorders. The role includes nursing assessments, administering IM medications, and collaborating with psychiatrists and the outpatient team.

Qualified applicants will hold PA RN licensure and have a valid driver's license; relevant experience with mental health, substance use, or forensic care

Qualifications

• Current licensure as Registered Nurse by State of Pennsylvania.
• Experience working with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders, and/or forensic issues preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide nursing services for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) to individuals with Substance Use Disorders.
• Assess client physical and mental health status, provide client education, and assist the psychiatrist in providing medical services.
• Administer intramuscular medications and contribute nursing perspective to outpatient treatment teams.
• Assist clients with obtaining prescription medications, document progress toward recovery, and liaise with physicians via walk-ins, phone consults, and scheduled appointments.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments as indicated.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Part-time RN will primarily work to coordinate and provide nursing services for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) to individuals with Substance Use Disorders.

Additionally, this position is responsible for assessing client physical and mental health status, providing client education, assisting the psychiatrist in providing medical services to identified clients, administering intramuscular (IM) medications, and providing a nursing perspective to Outpatient treatment team professionals including nursing, therapy and psychiatric. Additional duties include assisting clients with acquiring prescription medications, documenting client progress toward recovery and serving as a client liaison to the physician through effective management of client walk-ins, phone consultation and scheduled appointments. Also responsible for conducting comprehensive nursing assessments as indicated.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current licensure as Registered Nurse by State of Pennsylvania; experience working with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders, and/or forensic issues preferred
• Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle during scheduled work hours.
