Job summary

Elior North America is hiring a Part-Time Registered Dietitian for Natchitoches, LA. The role focuses on assessing nutritional needs, initiating interventions, and improving quality of life for patients/residents at NRMC and Courtyard of Natchitoches Nursing Home.

The position is 16–20 hours per week, with a mix of on-site and one remote day, supporting NRMC and the connected nursing home. Requires licensure, CDR exam, and ongoing CE credits.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (before 2024) or related field.
• Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets AND eligibility requirements.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years, in accordance with the CDR portfolio process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the health care team and educate patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Follow the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' standards of practice and facility regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to set up procedures and policies related to dining and nutrition.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and program development.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experiencedPart-Time Registered Dietitian to our healthcare team in Natchitoches, LA. As a Registered Dietitian, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals.*This position will be scheduled 16-20 hours per week, 1 - 1 1/2 days on-site and 1 day remote, covering the NRMC location and the connected Courtyard of Natchitoches Nursing Home.*

What you'll be doing:

• Providing nutritional expertise to the health care team and educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interacting with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.
• Actively participating in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024) or related field
• Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience working in healthcare or long-term care.

Compensation Range:

• $30.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience
