The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced Part-Time Registered Dietitian to our healthcare team in Pittsburgh, PA. This role offers the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of patients/residents, implement interventions, and improve quality of life. The position involves scheduled 16-24 hours weekly, covering John J. Kane - Ross and Glen Hazel as needed, with training at John J. Kane - McKeesport. There is potential for full-time advancement based on availability and experience.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing nutritional expertise and education to patients/residents and staff.
• Following standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborating with other departments on procedures, policies, and problem-solving related to nutrition.
• Participating in quality improvement programs.

Day-to-Day:

• Conducting nutrition assessments for admissions, quarterly, annual, tube feedings, weight changes, wounds, and significant changes.
• Providing nutrition education as needed.
• Creating and updating care plans for residents.
• Completing MDS for Section K and CAAs.
• Using physical exams to identify malnutrition.
• Participating in care conferences and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Engaging in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
• Performing kitchen inspections and meal service audits.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (prior to 2025) or related field.
• Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Passed a national exam by CDR or meets eligibility criteria.
• 75 hours of continuing education every five years.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Knowledge of assessment and care planning standards.
• Ability to teach others about nutrition.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience in healthcare or long-term care.

Compensation Range:
